Well well well - certainly diverse reading here - and quite interesting as well. All bases covered :) Your selection of reading always intrigues me - as does Marit's - as I find these bits'n'pieces that simply have me thinking ... hmmm ... now that sounds brilliant - like Lady Spy, Gentleman Explorer. Sounds like a fascinating life!
I'm glad that you enjoyed TSLoB -quite the novel indeed. I too felt so powerfully engulfed by the story.
Maeve Binchy - she just captures the human spirit and relationships so well. Always a good choice although some disqualify her as being too "pop" or formulaic, but there is always something worthwhile in her works.
And finally - finally - HP! Lol - well on your way then? good stuff - and easy enough to digest. The best thing about the HP series, apart from the sheer imagination is that each re-reading just gets better better, and then you get the chance to move beyond the smoke and mirrors of a "simple children's book."
Thanks for sharing your thoughts - always enjoy peeking under the dust jackets :)
The Kalahari Typing School for Men sounds interesting... I wish I could find the time to read more fiction... I think I need it... my life is beginning to feel dry and dusty.
