In the Lift
A lovely woman, soft and gentle,
And with whom I share a love
Of romantic art and craft,
Said to me
She always drinks two beers;
Every night without fail.
I never would have thought it!
In the lift, the other day,
A very nice woman
I work with;
Always dresses smart,
We talk about arts and crafts,
Told me she was transsexual!
What do you know?
You never can tell!
The other day, in the lift,
Two old bags from work
Were going on.
(You'd think butter wouldn't melt
In their mouths to look at 'em)
Turns out
One's an alchy an'
The other's a bloke!
Fucken weird shit, eh?

Is this a product of reality or imagination - either way it certainly is interesting fodder; I suspect it's reality though - and I must say, you lead the most interesting life and meet the most intriguing people.

Let's just say that this "yarn" is woven from several separate strands of actual reality to form a fabric of imagination!!! P xxx (PS: Do you use "yarn" as a colloquialism for "story" in Ca.?)
Yarn - reference story would most likely be found in old school types, and most often used in certain geographic regions - coastal - east. But it certainly has a lovely connotation and implication. :)
I'm glad you're writing poems again :-) I have this dream of illustrating your first anthology... x x

Funny, you should say that! I have a dream of someone illustrating some of my writing. One night we should get together! I've been meaning to email you in reply along with a couple of my children's stories. Promise I will soon! Love, P xxx
